J-San And The Analogue Sons Offer up straight knowledge in the form of Roots Sound Clash. The eternal Bob Marley once said “ I make spiritual music” and I challenge anyone to listen to these heart felt Rockers and not be moved by the positive vibrations. Following the great traditions of freedom music by sharing social commentary with calls to activism and initiating actions against the continued injustices throughout the world JATAS provides a soundtrack to revolutionaries everywhere. With so little to look forward to these days...

Wisdom from legends in music. Food for thought.

'I like to combine the dramatic emotional warmth of strings with the grooves and (the) body business of drums and bass.'

'All you needed was a couple of instruments and a few chords and you could be on an indie label.'

I didn't have any agenda or plan when I started writing stuff.

'I'm afraid that reason will triumph and that the world will become a place where anyone who doesn't fit that will become unnecessary.'

"David Byrne" Talking Heads

'Dubstep for me, is the most inspirational music out there. There is no need to curb my enthusiasm. Dubby do it for me!  Hahhahaha.'

Hot Mess Ain't no Punk Bitch

Raging on the scene, Hot Mess is setting the tone for the New Year in a strong way. The title alone should be enough to reach for the earplugs. I'm happy to report that the end result is as random and chaotic as any urban nomad could ever wish for. I have heard some good tunes but I have to say I'm rarely surprised by drop-ins like these. You just don't know what's coming next! If I had to descibe Hot Mess it would be cross between a more electro-psychdelic Caspa and a unquie House sensibility. Hot Mess …

Capitalize on Destruction?

Instead of immediately helping the people of Haiti the government(s) plans on how to capitalize on destruction. And That's just not right! Politics. A subject which I struggled to decide weather I would post or not on the Known Cold website. So I'll just post a little about politics and a lot about what I see as an opportunity for Americans to take a little power from a huge out of control government. The idea is simple, Unite behind the destruction of Haiti. Right now the US government is set to …

Apologies

I have to apologize for not posting anything since the new year. I've been multi-tasking here; trying to move the website in a new direction. Right now we are working on opening a webstore to sell mp3's from the entire dubstep scene. I'm thinking of including DnB, Dub, and Grime? Basically those great genres that don't get enough promotion in the musical landscape. We are also going to be selling sample-paks from some the great sample and sound artists along with some great freebie sample-paks. So my …

We're looking for collaborators. You must have a love for dubstep, this is really the only prerequisite. KCR is all about community, tracking down worthwhile music and giving an extra voice to musicians and artist's. When I first started this blog had the idea to support the dubstep community and music I loved. But after all im only one guy. So I need some help from the community. The problem is, I'm trying to run a record label along with writing the blog. A label where the lion's share of the profit …

Cold Styles / thisfollowingmusicdotcom / 12.19.09

'thisfollowingmusicdotcom' brings a mixture of ambience, garage, and sub-jazz dub with a laid back attitude and execution. Its a true delight for those sessions of chill. There's lots of techie atmospherics with surprise musical phrases of the West Coast jazz and hip hop variety. Cinematic soundscapes and premium sample selections grace each track. 'This following Music' stays true to dubs musical roots and expands on the dark garage sound. I think you'll agree, 10 years was a long time to wait, but the …
